Can art be pornographic?
Yes it can... and pornography can be art. It seems that there is plenty of scope for the two to overlap.
I like to think that I post 'nude photography' or 'erotic art' on my blog... with the ocassional pornographic image that I find too beautiful or too interesting not to post.
I am completely aware however that what is 'art' to me may be 'porn' to someone else. The difference between art and porn is in the eye of the beholder and whether someone finds an image artistic or pornographic is likely to be based on a very complex set of personal, social, religious or psycho-sexual criteria.
An image that I find beautiful may be viewed by a feminist as demeaning or by a religious person as offensive. So is it porn or not? Well... for me it's not porn... for them it is. In a free society there must be scope for such differences in points of view.
Having said that however I am also an advocate for boundaries. Child porn for example is wrong and will always be wrong... no matter how 'artistically' it is produced.
Post what YOU like on your blog. If someone finds it offensive they won't follow you... and that's ok too.
